Terms of Service — FinSor
Effective date: 12-May-2026 Last updated: 30-May-2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and Thulirr Technologies LLP ("we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the FinSor mobile application and any services we provide through it ("the App", "the Service").
By creating an account or using the App, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not accept them, do not use the App.
If you have questions, write to saithulirr@gmail.com.
1 · About FinSor
FinSor is a privacy-first personal finance application for the Indian market. It lets you upload your own financial documents (bank statements, credit card bills, mutual fund and demat statements, PPF / NPS / EPF passbooks, and so on), extracts structured data from them using AI, and shows you a consolidated view of your assets, liabilities, income, expenses, and net worth — all stored on your device.
FinSor is a tool, not a financial service. We are not your bank, broker, advisor, distributor, or fiduciary. See §7 for the full disclaimer.
2 · Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and competent to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872, to use FinSor.
You must not use FinSor if any law applicable to you prohibits you from doing so.
3 · Your account
3.1 · Creating an account
You create an account by providing an email address and choosing a password. You confirm that:
- The email address is yours and you have permission to use it.
- The password is one you have not reused from a less-trusted service.
- You are providing accurate information and will keep it accurate.
3.2 · Your responsibility for the account
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must keep your password and your device's unlock credentials (Face ID, fingerprint, PIN) confidential.
- You must notify us at support@thulirr.in promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3.3 · One account per person
You may hold one personal account on FinSor. You may not create multiple accounts to evade quota limits, abuse our service, or impersonate another person.
4 · The Service
4.1 · What we provide
- Tools to upload financial documents and have their contents extracted into structured data.
- An on-device store for the extracted data, queryable through dashboards and analytics screens inside the App.
- Optional AI-generated insights and analysis based on a summary of your portfolio.
- For FinSor Plus subscribers: a monthly financial report delivered as a PDF attachment to your registered email address. The report is built on your device and routed transiently through our backend solely to be attached to the email — see Privacy Policy §4.7.
- Future features as we ship them, on the same architectural principles described in our Privacy Policy.
4.2 · Free tier and limits
The App is free to install and use, subject to monthly usage limits:
- A capped number of document extractions per calendar month.
- A capped number of analysis runs per calendar month.
The exact limits are visible inside the App and may change with reasonable notice. If you exceed them, the affected features become unavailable until the start of the next calendar month, unless you have an active paid subscription.
The free plan is ad-supported. Ads are served by Google AdMob in a few places in the App; no financial data is ever used for advertising. See the Privacy Policy (§3.5) for details. The paid plan is ad-free.
4.3 · Paid tiers (FinSor Plus)
FinSor Plus is offered at ₹299 / month or ₹2,499 / year. When you subscribe:
- Subscriptions are sold through Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple StoreKit (iOS) and governed by the store's purchase and refund policies, not ours.
- Receipt validation and entitlement tracking on our side are orchestrated by RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), our subscription manager. See the Privacy Policy §4.6 for the exact data flow.
- We do not see, store, or process your card / UPI / wallet details at any point — the store handles that.
- Cancellation, refunds, and renewal management are done through the respective store's subscription settings (Google Play → Payments & subscriptions, or iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions).
- Pricing and benefits are disclosed in-app before you confirm a purchase.
FinSor Plus benefits currently include: an ad-free experience; unlimited document extractions and FinSor Insights / portfolio analyses (subject to fair-use); access to the FinSor trend analysis feature on Insights → Transactions; access to the email integration on supported providers; and the monthly report by email described in §4.1 and Privacy Policy §4.7. Benefits may evolve over time; the in-app subscription screen is the authoritative description at the time you subscribe.
5 · Your data
Our handling of your data is governed by the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. In summary:
- We do not store your financial data on our servers.
- Document bytes sent for processing are held in memory only and discarded at end of request.
- For FinSor Plus subscribers, the monthly report PDF is similarly transient on our servers — built on your device, routed through our backend in memory only, attached to an email sent to your registered address by our email-delivery vendor Brevo, and then dropped. We do not retain a server-side copy. See Privacy Policy §4.7.
- Account numbers are masked to the last 4 digits before being returned to your device.
- Your local database lives on your phone and (optionally) in your own iCloud / Google Drive account.
You retain full ownership of your data. Other than the transient processing described above, your financial data is not stored outside of the App on your device and any backups you explicitly enable.
6 · Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose, including but not limited to money laundering, tax evasion, or fraud.
- Upload documents you do not have the right to use (e.g. someone else's bank statement without authorization).
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract any non-public component of the App or its backend, except where Indian law gives you a right we cannot lawfully restrict.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, quota enforcement, or any security mechanism.
- Interfere with the operation of the Service
- Use the App to build, train, or evaluate another financial product without our prior written consent.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the App or any output produced by it.
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if we have a reasonable belief you have violated this section.
7 · Disclaimers — please read carefully
7.1 · We are not a financial advisor
FinSor is not a registered investment advisor, distributor, broker, banker, or financial planner. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. The output of the App — including extracted balances, computed net worth, allocation charts, "FinSor Insights" FinSor analyses, and any in-app recommendations — is for your personal informational use only.
Before making any financial decision based on what FinSor shows you, verify the underlying numbers against your original statements and consult a qualified, registered professional (a SEBI-registered investment advisor, a chartered accountant, a tax professional, or your bank as relevant).
7.2 · FinSor Analysescan be wrong
The extraction and analysis features are powered by large language models, which can make mistakes. We provide an anti-hallucination contract and a deterministic post-processing layer, but no system is perfect. You are responsible for reviewing every extracted transaction, balance, and category before relying on it.
Specifically:
- Transaction amounts may be misread.
- Merchant names may be mis-extracted.
- Expense categorization is a judgment, not a fact.
- Net-worth figures depend on which statements you have uploaded; missing uploads mean missing data.
- FinSor insight text is a generated suggestion, not a recommendation.
We provide editing controls inside the App so you can correct anything that's wrong. Use them.
7.3 · We are not regulated as a financial entity
FinSor is a software application. It is not licensed or regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), or any other Indian financial regulator. We do not hold custody of money or securities, do not execute transactions, and do not facilitate transfers between accounts.
7.4 · "As is"
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.
8 · Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, lost investment opportunities, business interruption, or distress arising from your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Our aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service in any 12-month period shall not exceed the greater of (a) ₹1,000 or (b) the total amount you have paid us for the Service in that period.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — for example, liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
9 · Third-party services
The App uses third-party services described in our Privacy Policy (Google Gemini for extraction and analysis; Google Play and Apple App Store for distribution and subscription billing; RevenueCat for subscription management; Google AdMob for ads on the free plan; Brevo for transactional email delivery including verification OTPs and the FinSor Plus monthly report; optionally Sentry for crash reporting; optionally iCloud or Google Drive for user-controlled backups; and optionally Gmail / Outlook / Yahoo if you connect an email account). Your use of those services through the App is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, downtime, or pricing changes of those services.
10 · Intellectual property
The App's source code, design, user interface, branding ("FinSor", "Thulirr", the logo mark), and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use.
You retain all rights in the data you upload and the data extracted from it.
11 · Termination
11.1 · Termination by you
You may delete your account at any time from More → Privacy → Delete account inside the App. Deletion permanently removes the personal data we hold about you (see Privacy Policy §9). The on-device data on your phone is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its storage.
11.2 · Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
- You materially breach these Terms (in particular §6, acceptable use).
- We are required to do so by law.
- We discontinue the Service (we will give at least 30 days' notice in this case via in-app notice and email).
On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (§5 ownership clarification, §7 disclaimers, §8 limitation of liability, §10 IP, §12 governing law, §13 dispute resolution) will survive.
12 · Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The Indian Contract Act, 1872, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, apply where relevant.
13 · Dispute resolution
13.1 · Talk to us first
Before escalating, please email saithulirr@gmail.com with a clear description of the issue and the outcome you are seeking. We will attempt to resolve it within 30 days.
13.2 · Arbitration
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that is not resolved through §13.1 shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Bengaluru, Karnataka, conducted by a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement, in English, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be Bengaluru.
13.3 · Courts
Subject to §13.2, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
13.4 · Consumer rights
Nothing in §13.2 limits any consumer rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any other applicable law that cannot be waived by contract.
14 · Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes (e.g. introduction of paid features, changes to liability or dispute terms) will be notified in-app on next launch and via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account before the effective date.
Minor, clarifying changes (e.g. a typo fix or a contact-address update) may take effect immediately; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
15 · Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a corporate transaction.
- Notices. Notices to you may be sent to the email address on file. Notices to us go to support@thulirr.in.
- Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience only; the English version governs.
